Julie has appeared in over 80 videos and movies, in everything from Buck Naked Line Dancing (and its companion piece Buck Naked Tennis) to Fit To Kill (her favorite) to Naked Gun 33 1/3: The Final Insult, and Beverly Hills Cop III. She's not one to turn down work. Most recently, she starred in Desire, and is currently serving as inspiration for Heavy Metal animators as they near completion on the feature film F.A.K.K. 2.
Without taking anything away from her appropriateness for that task--she has, after all, long been a favorite subject of the erotic artist Olivia--Julie does have an in at Heavy Metal. She's married to Kevin Eastman, creator of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, who owns the company.
Together, Julie and Kevin live a Camelot-like existence. They spend half their time at a converted bank they've made home in Northampton, Massachusetts, the other half at a palatial spread in Los Angeles. Each residence's decor goes heavy on the Julie: Olivia paintings, Heavy Metal storyboards, movie posters and box covers give both homes the feel of Strain shrines. Kevin makes no excuses. He is admittedly his wife's biggest fan. The pair met when Kevin lined up to get Julie's autograph, and, they'll tell you, it was love at first sight. From all external appearances, it remains love at every sight. The two haven't spent a moment apart since their marriage nearly two years ago. They're still cooing.
The funny thing is, you've never met a nicer pair. Being Queen comes naturally to the 6'1" former body-builder. She loves the adoration, willfully sending everything from head shots to personalized videos to toenail clippings (per request) to her many fans. And Kevin, having established himself firmly in his own realm of comic animation, couldn't be a better sport about it all.
When Trouble & Attitude took a trip to their Northampton home, Julie and Kevin were more than gracious hosts. After we filmed Julie for awhile, the pair took us on a tour of their museum--the Words & Pictures of Fine Sequential Art Museum in Northampton--fed us lunch, and let us take a spin in their new car, the Batmobile.
Julie, however, won't tell you everything about herself. There's a 10-year period of her life of which she will only say that she was "asleep." She likes to concern herself with the present and the future, both of which are looking pretty bright.
